Editorial Policy

How content here is created, verified, corrected, and kept independent.

The publish-state workflow

Every recipe and guide moves through three states: development, where content is drafted and the method is written but not yet proven; tested, once it has been physically bake-tested and the notes reconciled; and indexable, once it is tested and ready to be surfaced in search. Content in development is labeled as such and is kept out of search engines until it has been bake-tested.

Corrections policy

When we find or are told about an error, we fix it promptly and note that a correction was made rather than editing silently. If a change affects a recipe's outcome — a weight, a temperature, a time — we treat it as a correction and log it. You can report an issue via the contact page.

Independence of recommendations

Recommendations for tools, equipment and techniques are made on editorial merit. Affiliate relationships do not decide what we recommend or how we rank it. See the affiliate disclosure for how any commissions work.

Testing and authorship

We do not mark a recipe as tested until it has been physically baked, and we do not fabricate photos, ratings, or author credentials. For the specifics of what "tested" means, see recipe testing.
